Exploring boundaries - Fine art photography

In her project, entitled "Zero F*cks Given," Anna Dobrovolskaya-Mints examines the potential of spatial orientation through the sky as a reference point. The artist directs the viewer's attention towards the sky, prompting them to recognise the aesthetic qualities of the universe and to reflect on their relationship to the surrounding environment. The photographs function as a conduit for healing, providing a respite from the pervasive chaos of the digital age and its accompanying noise.

The emphasis on the cosmos prompts the recollection that we are all constituted of the same cosmic matter and are interconnected as members of a universal family, as we contemplate the universe from which we have all emerged.

Dobrovolskaya-Mints' work with digital photography serves to loosen the bonds between the medium, the image and its constituent fragments, thereby clarifying a purpose in the context of prevailing uncertainty and confusion. Dobrovolskaya-Mints employs the specific characteristics of digital photography to create images that reflect the essence of the universe and connect with the objective reality of the cosmos. In this context, the subjective noise of human affairs is diminished. Despite the diversity of human experience, we all gaze at the same stars.
